The Almrausch & Steinrose country houses

Both country houses are equipped with a standard filter coffee machine and a Nespresso capsule machine (including a starter set). The capsules are available in any supermarket.
The kitchen is equipped with a spice cupboard – so your rice pudding won’t have to do without cinnamon, and your chicken won’t have to do without paprika.
The downstairs bathroom has a washing machine with an integrated tumble dryer. Washing powder and fabric softener are provided, as is a clothes horse.
Up to two dogs per property are generally permitted. Please let us know before arrival if you plan to bring them with you. We charge an additional €10.00 per night (surcharge to cover more thorough cleaning).
We restock the dishwasher tablets, which are kept in the kitchen cupboard under the sink. Dishwasher detergent is also provided.
Filled hand soap dispensers can be found in both bathrooms and in the kitchen.
Each house is equipped with two full bathrooms (washbasin, shower and toilet).
Each bathroom is equipped with a starter set of toilet paper.
There is a vacuum cleaner available for you to use in the boiler room under the stairs.
High-quality insect screens have been fitted in all the upstairs rooms (3 bedrooms and the bathroom). The two large patio doors have insect screens with magnetic closures – accessible even for children and pets.
The beds are made up on arrival. For stays of more than a week, we’ll be happy to provide a second set. There are plenty of towels for use in the accommodation – please bring your own towels for trips to the lake and picnics.
The rubbish bin enclosure (outside) is for general waste (black), paper (green) and plastic (yellow bag) – all bins are labelled. Inside, under the stairs, there is a container for glass bottles, which we’re happy to dispose of for you.
Each house comes with a charcoal barbecue, including barbecue cutlery. It is kept in the shed provided – the key is hanging on the coat rack.
In spring 2026, patio canopies measuring approximately 5 × 3 m were installed. You’ll stay dry even when it rains – with a perfect view of Lake Ossiach.
Each house has a lounge area for 6 people with seat cushions, sheltered from the rain under the canopy. There is also a bistro table with chairs, a large parasol and two sun loungers. Please close the parasol when you leave – there are heat-related thunderstorms in summer.
Each house has two parking spaces: one covered under the carport and one uncovered to the side of the house.
Each house has a labelled, lockable shed (the key is on the coat rack). Please use this to store your equipment safely.
Local infrastructure in Bodensdorf

There is a BILLA and a SPAR supermarket in Bodensdorf. Both are within walking distance of the holiday homes.

STROBL Bakery treats customers to homemade bread and cake specialities. Regional specialities and farmhouse breads are available at GREISSLEREI RASCH; SPAR and BILLA also stock a wide range of products.

During the summer months, Bodensdorf has a lakeside resort – refurbished in 2025 – with free entry, a jetty, a shaded sunbathing area, a playground and a small restaurant. On the other side of the lake lies the large lakeside resort of Ossiach (accessible by car or lake taxi).

Yes – a lovely spa park with direct access to the lake, a playground, a mini-golf course and the PAVILLION AM SEE café (open from mid-March until around the end of October).

An S-Bahn service runs directly from Bodensdorf to Villach and Klagenfurt at frequent intervals, alongside bus routes and, in winter, the ski bus to the Kanzelbahn. With the free ErlebnisCard, our guests can use local transport in Carinthia free of charge.

Bicycles and e-bikes are available from the Bodensdorf Tourist Information Centre and at Gasthaus Leo. In Annenheim, an e-bike hire company delivers the bikes directly to people’s homes and collects them again.

The Sonnenapotheke Bodensdorf is open all day on weekdays, including Saturdays.

There is a wide range of restaurants in the village – from Italian and Greek cuisine to fast food and traditional pub fare. We’d be happy to share our personal recommendations.

In summer at the Bodensdorf Town Hall; all year round at the Sattendorf Tourist Office. Among other things, you can get the KärntenCard there, as well as information on all the places to visit and bike hire.
